Colourful canvas…

So this is a project I’ve been meaning to finish for ages
I began by using a variety of ink sprays from Dylusions, kaisercraft, tim Holtz, Heidi swapp to colour some tissue paper. This was then torn and scrunched and applied to the canvas with prima gloss gel

Then the middle was coloured using oxide inks and again a variety or ink sprays

As the canvas was quite busy with all the colour I kept the decoration simple. I chose a variety of wooden and chipboard circles. These were coloured with pinflair wax and prima sparks paints

And here is the finished piece.

You can purchase the prima sparks paints, oxide inks and a number of other inks at

Mirror mirror…

Ok so I decided to have a tidy up today and so glad i did. I forgot about this beautiful mirror I had hidden away

It just made me of a mermaid or siren sat upon a rock gazing at their curls 🙂  so I needed to go patina paste with it

The metal was a very slippery surface so it needed a few coats of gesso

Then on with the pastes. Starting with the thicker, trainer blue and green pastes I layered up the colours using a flat big brush. This was dries off with the heatgun. I then used my finger to.rub some of the bronze paste over the raised areas to bring out the lovely details in the mirror. I’m really please with the results.

I added some lace and a resin to finish. You can purchase the patina pastes here

Great job Donna and look forward to more

Happy holidays…

So excited for all the Halloween and Christmas supplies to arrive! This is the best time of year as a crafter and also the most exciting for me as a buyer. Well this year is not going to disappoint.

I find a lot of the time brands bring out similar designs to each other, a flood.of traditional Xmas and bold Halloween colours.

However, this year I am delighted to see such a variety of fantastic designs. Here are just a few sneaky peeks of what’s to come. We will start getting these in about 2 weeks time and will be more over the next couple of months as things are released by the companies.

9Prima rose quartz layout…

I  had my latest delivery a few days ago and I just could  not resist the prima rose quartz pad for myself.

I just couldn’t wait to get stuck in so created this layout and will walk you through it.

Firstly I chose 2 of the papers to use as both backgrounds and for fussy cutting feathers.

I loved the marbled black sheet and thought it would looks great for stencilling white on to. I chose a stencil and 2 types of gesso, one thin and one thick. I then mixed some mica powder with soft gloss gel and stencilled this on also and added the cut out globe element.

The die cut feathers were added along with other die cuts, some flat and others with a 3d effect using foam tape. Thickers and stickers were used to add phrases and a few flicks if ink to finish.

I really love this range and can’t wait to use it again
